MISS GRAND INTERNATIONAL 2022: AT THE HOMESTRETCH (PART 4)

MOZAMBIQUE - Suema Abdul Rachid.  During her stay in Bali, she sported an Afro like HONDURAS and UNITED KINGDOM, but went for a different style when she set foot in Jakarta.  With the high caliber of this year's batch, she could only muster a "worthwhile contender" status but in other years she would've had an inside track to the Top 20.

MYANMAR - Ei Ei Aung Htun.  She's a stage dynamo, and although she is not renowned for her intelligence, she exudes a lot of charm in her interview that she might have performed well enough to secure a Top 20 spot.

NEPAL - Aishworya Shrestha.  She's the last contestant to arrive.  She's a good communicator but she flunked the "Who would you want to win MGI if not you?" question as she refused to answer.  She's also not as polished as her peers so she is not likely to make the cut.

NETHERLANDS - Marit Beets.  Many are buzzing about her charming and intelligent interview.  She also has pretty good looks, trim figure, and good stage presence that she is one of those likely to make the Top 20.

NICARAGUA - Maycrin Jaenz.  See EL SALVADOR.

NIGERIA - Damilola Bolarinde.  Many fans are buzzing that the top-performing black/African contestant is this lady.  I do agree with the fans' and pundits' assessments.  The question is if she could make all the way to the Top 10, as this is very cutthroat this year.

PAKISTAN - Aneesa Sheikh.  There are some pageant pundits who have a sentimental liking to her.  I don't find her that polished but she is good-looking.  Could she be one of those "refreshing" choices?

PANAMA - Laura De Sanctis.  She is another Miss Universe alumna, of batch 2017.  She didn't make the cut that year though she won Miss Congeniality.  She seems to have a better chance making the cut here, but it's a big challenge as there are so many great choices with such limited slots.

PARAGUAY - Agatha Leon.  She's reasonably polished onstage, but she might have a disadvantage as she was nervous during her closed-door interview, so that might discount her chances making the Top 20.

PERU - Janet Leyva.  She may not garner as heavy a buzz as other ladies out there but she's competing at a high level, so she's still within sight of making the Top 20.

PHILIPPINES - Roberta Tamondong.  She was always on-point throughout her stint here with only an absence in the Jakarta opening gala party (because of illness) being the only blip in her otherwise superb campaign.  For many pageant fans and pundits, she performed convincingly enough that missing the Top 20 would be an injustice.  However, our country has a history of either making all the way to the Final Five, or otherwise miss the cut altogether.  I don't picture her making the Final Five so would Nawat take that against her and shut her out of the Top 20?  I hope this year will be an exception and that she'll make the first cut even if she doesn't advance further up.

POLAND - Natalia Gryglewska.  She's attractive and is a surprisingly intelligent interview.  But she's not as strong as other fierce contenders out there onstage so she is more of a worthwhile contender.

PORTUGAL - Sabrina Ribeiro.  She's pretty, but she obviously doesn't have polished stage chops or resources.  With training and polish, she could've been a better regarded contender.

PUERTO RICO - Oxana Rivera.  She generated heavy buzz from pageant fans and pundits and she is one of those who seems to cover all the bases, so she looks like a lock for the Final Five.  Could she bring forth her country's second win in this pageant?  I have my sights on three ladies ahead of her, but it's not impossible.
