MISS GRAND INTERNATIONAL 2022: AT THE HOMESTRETCH (PART 3)

HONDURAS - Saira Cacho.  I find her polished and made an impression with her Afro hairstyle, though there is another making a bit more splash sporting the same style.  In another year, she would make a serious play for the Top 20, but in this batch she's more of a worthwhile contender.

HONG KONG - Chan Mei To.  She's plain and raw, so she's not likely to make the cut.

INDIA - Praachi Nagpal.  I find her good looking and she's polished.  But she's not receiving heavy buzz as a Top 20 contender.  It's still possible for her to make the cut, but this batch is emerging to be extremely competitive.  I should also like to note her costume choice is interesting--she's literally a tiger.

INDONESIA - Andina Julie.  The host contestant is a cute bundle of energy.  She may not be renowned for her intelligence but she exudes a lot of charm.  Some are hyping that she can make a paly for the Final Five--I wouldn't say that, but it is indeed possible.

IRELAND - Peace Olaniyi.  Like in Miss World 2021, this normally lily-white country is fielding a black contender.  She's cute and actually reasonably polished, though she's more in the "worthwhile contender" level isntead of having an inside track to the Top 20.

ITALY - Miriam Malerba.  She's actually polished onstage, though she didn't quite stand out so she can be regarded as only a worthwhile contender.

JAMAICA - Kim-Marie Spence.  She's lean, lissome, and has solid stage chops.  But with such a high caliber batch like this one, she is also registering more as a worthwhile contender than one who can make a possible splash to the Top 20.

JAPAN - Seira Inoue.  She's half-Filipino and she's reasonably polished.  She could be a possible Top 20 contender, though she seems to be one of the shortest contestants in this batch.

KOREA - Juyeon Lee.  In another year, she would've been a middle-of-the-road to a worthwhile contender, but the standards this year are at a very high level and her less-than-finessed presence makes her one of the rear

LAOS - Phoutsavanh Vongkhamxao.  She seems to have major impact with her fellow contestants, as in the closed-door interview where Nawat & Co. polled the contestants on who they feel deserves to win the title if it wasn't them, there were votes going to this lady's way.  Not sure if Nawat & Co. had the same sentiment toward this lady, but she is a strong contender with strong stage chops and has a surprisingly strong capacity for English.  Pageant fans do not include her in their predictions, but she can possibly pull off a sleeper surprise.

MALAYSIA - Charissa Chong.  See KOREA, but with stronger communication skills.

MAURITIUS - Yuvna Gookdol.  She's attractive and has polished stage chops.  I would've rated her a worthwhile contender, but she seems to be generating significant amount of votes that she might be able to pull off an automatic ticket to the Top 10 by winning the popular vote.  Let's see if there are enough supporters rallying for her cause.

MEXICO - Laysha Salazar.  The Latinas are very fierce, as usual, and this lady is no exception.  Many are buzzing about her performance in the preliminary competition that she might accumulate points from this part to enter the Top 20.

MONGOLIA - Elena Egorova.  She's not quite as polished as most of the contestants out there, but in most years she would've been regarded as a middle-of-the-road contender.  But with this batch, she is one of those taking the rear.

COMING UP:  MOZAMBIQUE to PUERTO RICO
