MISS GRAND INTERNATIONAL 2022: AT THE HOMESTRETCH (PART 2)

COSTA RICA - Brenda Muñoz.  She's noted for long jet black locks and strong catwalk skills.  She can make a play for the Top 20.

CRIMEA - Yulia Pavlikova.  This blonde is one of three "contentious" contestants in this batch, representing a region that has been under dispute between Russia and Ukraine since Russian troops entered the territory in 2014.  She has some polish onstage, but not enough to make a standout impression.

CUBA - Fabien Laurencio.  She's polished and is a strong interview.  She's also solid onstage though I find her not that conventionally pretty.  But still there might be a path for the Top 20 for her, so do not count her out.

CURACAO - Kanisha Sluis.  She made the Top 10 at Miss Universe 2015, and she has made a huge splash here.  This statuesque stunner ticks all the boxes and so far her styling and stage presence is as stellar as she was back then.  Her styling so far is also very much on-point, so she is one of the possible Final Five contenders.  I would be happy if that happens.

CZECH REPUBLIC - Mariana Beckova.  This blonde is undeniably a head-turner and after her superbly regarded interview has emerged as a front-runner and a possible winner.  Though some observers felt her preliminary competition performance is not as stellar as other favorites, she didn't really make a misstep so she may still have enough goodwill to still be a possible front-runner for the crown.

DENMARK - Victoria Kjær.  This platinum blonde is garnering buzz as a refreshing sleeper choice for the Top 20.  As one of the youngest contestants at age 18, she proved to have a maturity far beyond her years in her interview and she is also polished onstage.  Many fans would be happy if she made the cut.

DOMINICAN REPUBLIC - Jearmanda Ramos.  She's a strong communicator and a stage dynamo.  In the preliminary competition she provoked with a very revealing evening gown--I'm worried considering she's in more conservative Jakarta, but she didn't generate controversy so maybe that gown won't be taken against her.  She may have an inside track to the Top 20.

ECUADOR - Lisseth Naranjo.  See COSTA RICA.

EL SALVADOR - Noor Mohamed.  In a less competitive year, she may have an inroad into the Top 20.  But with a strong batch like this, at most she can be deemed as a worthwhile contender.

FRANCE - Lucie Carbone.  She's a child of a Korean orphan adopted into a French family and a French father, hence her Asian features.  She may not have as polished stage skills as her fellow competitors, but if Nawat & Co. consider her "refreshing" with her short haircut, she may become a sleeper possibility for the Top 20.

GERMANY - Kim Kelly Braun.  She's actually half-Thai, and she's surprisingly very polished, and in the evening gown segment of the preliminary competition she sported a provocative cleavage baring number.  I can see her as another sleeper choice for the Top 20.

GHANA - Zahara-Imani Bossman-Pinkrah.  She was trained by Miss Grand International 2020 Abena Appiah and she's undeniably applying the training well, as she's clearly a strong standout.  But there is another African receiving stronger buzz and not to mention that all the other Africans are peforming at a high level so it's a wonder if there will be room for her in the Top 20.

GUATEMALA - Andrea Radford.  She actually covers all the bases, being a strong interview and also highly polished onstage.  She is another Top 20 possibility.

HAITI - Anne Paame Estima.  She's striking and exotic, though she's not making as much an impact as others out there.

COMING UP:  HONDURAS to MONGOLIA
