MISTER INTERNATIONAL 2022: AT THE HOMESTRETCH (CONCLUSION)

 

PHILIPPINES - Myron Jude (MJ) Ordillano.  The host representative exudes more handsomeness and charisma over his 2019 predecessor who finished in the Final Five.  Though I find there are some guys making a stronger impression this year than him, there is still a possible scenario that will pave the way to a similar Final Five finish for this guy.

PUERTO RICO - Driel Souza.  He looks like this year's "black-guy-most-likely" in this year's batch.  He has the buffness, sex appeal, and charisma to earn his rightful place in the Top 16.  Hope there is room for a black guy this year.

SIERRA LEONE - Almon Sall.  He's the last person to arrive, but he seems to make a standout impression with his ebony complexion and rippled physique.  I would've considered him a possible Top 16 contender if it weren't that he was late in participating in many key photoshoots and pageant activities--there were some latecomers who made the cut before, but will the tides turn in his favor here?

SINGAPORE - Sean Nicholas Sutiono.  He obviously has one of the buffest bods in this year's batch. Too bad he also has one of the plainest faces.

SPAIN - Juan Pablo Collas.  I was slightly worried about the floppy-haired look he sported in the early activities in this competition, but it turns out he just needed a little time to acclimatize and he went back to top form since then.  He seems totally on-point in all succeeding appearances since the press presentation, and he was sensational during the preliminary competition.  He looks poised to become the winner in this pageant--now I just hope that he won't encounter a snag with the Mister International organization in case he wins or else we would see a dethronement like what happened earlier at Mister Global.

SRI LANKA - Pasan Weerasekara.  He possesses the boyish appeal of INDIA but with scruff.  I'm noticing he has a standout style during the La Union trip so I have a feeling he could make serious inroads into the Top 16.

SWITZERLAND - Marcel Riera.  He exudes a very masculine vibe that I really dig, and he exudes beefy buffness, handsomeness, and sex appeal.  He looks like a front-runner for me, possibly even pulling off a second win for his country in this pageant.

TAIWAN - Jacob Hsiao.  I just find him highly sexy and appealing, but he's not receiving much buzz and he didn't quite make a standout impression in the preliminary competition.  Still he's a highly worthwhile contender.

THAILAND - Surasak Muangkaew.  He also exudes that Trinh Bao vibe like what HONG KONG has, though HONG KONG seems to have the heavier buzz and upper hand.  But this guy seems to also be firing on all cylinders, so it's highly possible he can usurp the title and bring forth a win for his country.

U S A - Daryn Alexander.  He published his height as 6', but in reality he's about four inches shorter--in fact he's probably the shortest contestant in this batch.  Still, there are fans who feel he is a top contender, and could conceivably advance further beyond Top 16.  I'm not quite drinking that Kool-Aid yet, but I do declare he's probably this year's version of the "Little-Cutie-That-Could".

VENETZUELA - Orangel Dirinot.  It's quite interesting that like in this year's Manhunt International, this country fielded a dark-complexioned contestant.  Now, is his complexion solely because of a native Indian heritage or is there some African roots mixed with it, it's not clear at this point, but what is undeniable is that this guy exudes a lot of charisma that he can make a possible play for the Final Five.

With all 35 contestants taken into account, here is how my leaderboard looks:

SHOO-INS:  BRAZIL, CZECH REPUBLIC, INDIA, MALAYSIA, MEXICO, PERU, PHILIPPINES, THAILAND, U S A, VENEZUELA

LIKELIEST:  CUBA, DOMINICAN REPUBLIC, INDONESIA, JAPAN, KOREA, LAOS, NETHERLANDS, PUERTO RICO, SRI LANKA

EXCELLENT:  ALBANIA, BELGIUM, FRANCE, NICARAGUA, PANAMA, SIERRA LEONE, TAIWAN

VERY STRONG:  HAITI, KAZAKHSTAN, NEPAL, SINGAPORE

STRONG:  CAMBODIA, MYANMAR

BUBBLING UNDER:  DOMINICAN REPUBLIC, INDONESIA, JAPAN, KOREA, LAOS, NETHERLANDS, TAIWAN

STRIKING DISTANCE:  ALBANIA, BELGIUM, FRANCE, NICARAGUA, PANAMA, SIERRA LEONE

So far, I feel it's a tight race among three guys, with SPAIN (Juan Pablo Collas) seemingly having the upper hand but there is HONG KONG (Jason Li) and SWITZERLAND (Marcel Riera) very close by and the likes of MEXICO (Andres Villegas), THAILAND (Surasat Muangkaew) and VENEZUELA (Orangel Dirinot) possibly pulling off an upset.  Plus, there are a whole host of other worthy contenders who could've advanced further or even possibly win in other years.  We are spoiled with an abundance of buffed lookers this year.  This would make for an exciting competition tonight.

MISTER INTERNATIONAL 2022: AT THE HOMESTRETCH (PART 2)

 

JAPAN - Ryo Yatogo.  He is a buffed, Boyish Asian Cutie (BAC).  I know there are people who do like those kind of features, so a Top 16 finish is conceivable for this guy.

KAZAKHSTAN - Anatoly Anissimov.  Most people from this country look Asian, but he's obviously more in the European/Russian side of the Eurasian equation.  Being the tallest guy in this batch, he could've been this year's Beefcake Behemoth, but he doesn't quite have that much polish and was not channeling much charisma throughout his stint here.  He has potential, though.

KOREA - Jaeyoung Cho.  Here's another member of the BAC contingent.  If enough judges have a strong liking to his features, he can advance to the Top 16.

LAOS - Sengtavanh Chaleunphonh.  See INDONESIA, with slightly plainer features.

MALAYSIA - Hugo Amandus.  He received buzz during the press presentation, as he exudes a mix of BAC with a dash of that Trinh Bao charisma that is currently exhibited by HONG KONG.  It is pointing towards him becoming a shoo-in for the Top 16 with a possible play for the Top 10 and perhaps even beyond.

MEXICO - Andrés Villegas.  He looks like he's competing at a very high level that he could be a possible usurper for the title.  He has handsomeness, charisma, sex appeal, competitive drive, and stage polish in spades.

MYANMAR - San Thar.  It's such a shame he was bullied online as being "unworthy" of competing in this pageant.  Though in a Magnificent Batch like this one he does take up the rear as he lacks relative polish and charisma, I wouldn't say he's unworthy of belonging in this group, it is just that the other guys are clearly more at the top of their game than he has.  But at least he can showcase his advocacy and enjoy the brotherhood being developed among his batch.

NEPAL - Manash Kumar Raj.  He's attractive and reasonably polished, but with this Magnificent Batch, this only amounts to a standing as a worthwhile contender, at most.

NETHERLANDS - Ilya Shahedi.  I'm not sure if based from his name he has Russian and Iranian/Arab heritage, but he does possess a swarthy appeal with a relatively shorter stature, just like DOMINICAN REPUBLIC.  If enough judges dig his sort of look, he can make the Top 16.

NICARAGUA - Jonathan López.  He's the most fully bearded guy in this year's batch.  He's attractive and buffed, but since this is a Magnificent Batch, he's at msot a worthwhile contender.

PANAMA - Daniel Andrian Morán.  He's a dusky, buffed, and polished contender, but he's overshadowed by another guy with his qualities that exuded a lot more charisma, and there is a connection between that guy's country and this country as they used to be part of one big country back in the 19th century.*1

*1  The super-country in question was Gran Colombia (1819-1831).  That country constituted present-day Colombia, Ecuador, Panama, and Venezuela alongside parts of Brazil, Peru, and Guyana.  When Colombia and Ecuador split up from Gran Colombia, Panama used to be a part of Colombia--it became a separate independent country later in 1903.

PERU - Eleazar Moreno.  This guy is quietly receiving sleeper buzz as he possesses a clean-cut Classic Latino Handsomeness (CLH) that could make him a shoo-in to the Top 16 with a possible play for the Top 10 and beyond.

COMING UP:  PHILIPPINES to VENEZUELA plus the "FEARFUL" FORECAST
